Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov met with a delegation led by Javier Colomina Piriz, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia. This was reported by Azerbaijani media, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

The Azerbaijani defense minister informed the guests about the situation in the territories occupied by Azerbaijan, and presented his version of the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

Colomina Piriz, in turn, expressed NATO's readiness to provide appropriate assistance in ensuring peace in the region.

The parties discussed also the post-Karabakh-war situation and other issues of mutual interest.
