British writer Roald Dahl is now first in the Forbes ranking of highest-paid dead celebrities, Gazeta.ru reports.

Netflix recently acquired the rights to screen his stories, for which the Roald Dahl Story Company received $684 million.

The writer's post-mortem earnings were $700 million last year.

From 2013 to 2020, the Forbes ranking of highest-paid dead celebrities was headed by famous singer Michael Jackson, who has now moved to the third place in this ranking—with $75 million.

In second place is renowned musician Prince—with $120 million.
