The Armenian-Ukrainian relations have tremendous potential. This is what Ukraine-based Armenian political scientist Oleg Sahakyan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am at the concluding conference of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine in Yerevan today.

According to him, the two countries have everything they need to enhance the potential.

“There is a cultural-social base that serves as the foundation for the centuries-old friendship between the Ukrainians and the Armenian Diaspora, which is represented by the Union of Armenians of Ukraine,” Sahakyan clarified.

According to the analyst, the countries need to be more active, even though Ukrainian officials have been paying several visits to Armenia over the past year.

“The intergovernmental commission has held a session, Ukrainian MPs and the Ombudspersons have paid a few visits, and the First Lady of Ukraine has paid a visit. Let us note that all this happened over the past year,” the Ukrainian political scientist said.
