Emoji reactions from viewers will appear in mobile applications of YouTube video hosting.

As reported by 9to5Google, this potentially distracting feature will be implemented as a panel in the viewport.

The floating panel will offer to choose from four emoji. When clicked, they will begin to be displayed on the playback timeline.

The journalists added that while viewing it will not be possible to see which of the YouTube users used this or that reaction, only how many more users have chosen this emoji.

Reactions are currently not available to all users and channels. Users of the iOS and Android app are slowly starting to get access to this feature.
