Authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan have imposed restrictions on the export of sunflower oil, which will last from 18 June to 31 August 2022, the press service of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the country reported.

"Quantitative restrictions (quotas) were introduced for export of sunflower oil from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan effective from 18 June 2022, to 31 August, 2022, inclusive," the statement says.

During this period, oil can be exported from Kazakhstan only if a phytosanitary certificate, issued by the territorial division of the Committee of State Inspection in the Agroindustrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

The press service specified that the measure was introduced to stabilize prices and eliminate the deficit in the market due to increased demand in foreign markets. The previous oil export restriction expired on 1 June. It was in force since 15 December 2021.
