The meeting between Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin began in Tehran, Mehr reported.

The Russian president arrived in the Iranian capital on Tuesday afternoon.

The Russian and Iranian presidents are expected to discuss bilateral cooperation as well as current international issues.

During his visit to Tehran, the Russian president will also attend a summit in the Astana format with the presidents of Iran and Turkey.
