Cab services are a licensed activity, and both individuals and individual entrepreneurs as well as organizations can be licensed. Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, said this in a conversation with journalists in Parliament on September 7.

"We have transportation carried out through online platforms, and this sector is not regulated. In this regard, our Ministry has developed a draft of legislative amendments, by which we give a certain status to organizations that carry out transportation through online platforms.

They must become an organization subject to notification of activities, to pay state fees. The Ministry also proposes to charge a state duty for each transportation and to assign this obligation to the online platforms. According to the proposed draft, the amount of state duty for each transportation will be 100 drams. This has yet to be discussed and is not the final version," said Simonyan, noting that it will lead to an increase in the cost of cabs by at least 100 drams.
