The border police detained two Armenian citizens who tried to smuggle drugs into Georgia bypassing a checkpoint, Novosti-Georgia reports with reference to the press service of the Interior Ministry.
The investigation revealed that the accused, illegally crossed the state border near Red Bridge (Sadakhlo checkpoint) and smuggled drugs Alfa-PVP, packed in 12 packets into Georgia. The age of the accused is 24 and 28.
The investigation continues on the fact of illegal crossing of the state border by a group of people, as well as the illegal acquisition, storage and importation of drugs into Georgia.
These crimes provide imprisonment for up to 12 years.
