Azerbaijan attacked Armenia on Tuesday, violating the country's territorial integrity, French MP Sabrina Agresti-Roubache tweeted.

"My thoughts are with Armenia and Armenians this evening. Azerbaijan has launched a large-scale attack, once again violating the territorial integrity of a country friendly to us. Tomorrow I will immediately address to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna to ask France to support Armenia," she tweeted.

Renaud Muselier, President of Provence-Alpes Council, made a similar statement noting: "News reaching us from Armenia is particularly alarming. If this attack of Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of Armenia is confirmed, the international reaction must be immediate and collective."

Azerbaijan opened fire on Tuesday night near the Armenian borders. The reports have been confirmed by the Armenian defense ministry spokesperson who said that the adversary also used UAVs.

The defense ministry said it will regularly issue official reports on the developments of the situation.
