President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan has called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to resolve their conflict pacifically, reported the press service of the Kyrgyz leader.

It is reported that the head of Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday attended—via videoconference—the emergency session of the Collective Security Council of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which took place at the initiative of the Armenian side and was dedicated to the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan is extremely concerned about the escalation of the situation on the border of two friendly countries. President Sadyr Japarov emphasized the need to settle the situation exclusively through political and diplomatic means, and expressed hope that both sides will continue to refrain from using force and resolve all differences pacifically, based on measures to strengthen trust between Armenia and Azerbaijan," said a representative of the press service of the Kyrgyz president.
