Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have visited the Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) who were captured by Azerbaijan after September 13. Zara Amatuni, Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the ICRC Armenia office, stated about this Monday.

"We do not share statistical data related to the number of people detained in Azerbaijan with the public, but we are in direct contact with the families of the relevant people. And we had our last—one could say the first—visit to the persons whom the authorities of Azerbaijan approved to our organization, on September 23," Amatuni said.

"As in other cases, in this case too there was an opportunity to visit those places of detention, to check the health condition of those persons, to establish contact with their families, and naturally, this process is continuous," the ICRC representative added.

Earlier, Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, informed that Azerbaijan had promised to release 17 Armenian POWs by September 30, but did not fulfill its commitment.
