Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused the U.S. and EU of pressuring and threatening TDT members.

"We saw that the U.S., especially the EU, put pressure on the members of the Organization of Turkish States (TDT) and even threaten them. There has been very serious pressure on them, handing them notes, writing letters. But we must not forget that there is the Turkic world, which does not bow its head before any threats, be it the EU or the USA. The unity of the Turkic world is important for the stability of the region and the world. Let's put threats aside, let's cooperate, let's take action for the benefit of all sides. This is only the beginning, it will be followed by necessary steps," he said, Anadolu news agency reported.

Speaking about granting "observer" status to the occupied part of northern Cyprus in the OTG, Cavusoglu said that "our message to the United States is that they have upset the balance in both Turkish-Greek relations and in Cyprus." "The Turkish century has begun, the Turkish spring has begun. We can say that with the accession of the "TRNC" to the Organization of Turkic States (OTG), a new era has opened. We don't need permission from the U.S., or anyone else for that matter," he said.
