The price of gold is slightly lower Wednesday morning, while attention is turned to the publication of the minutes of the latest meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) later on Wednesday, trading data shows.

The price of December gold futures on the New York Comex Exchange is down $5.35, or 0.31%, to $1,734.55 a troy ounce. December silver futures are down 0.49% to $20.945 an ounce.
