Armenia will definitely remain a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), despite the fact that not everything has been agreed upon, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, TASS reports.

According to him, the CSTO leaders at the talks discussed the extension of the peacekeeping mission in Armenia, as well as the fate of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "We discussed the matter frankly and directly in a constructive manner. Not everything can still be agreed, there are certain nuances," Peskov said, adding that "this topic is on the agenda." The Kremlin spokesman assured that the CSTO is needed and needed.

He noted that Russia continues to play an important role in the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement process and will continue to help. "No one is trying to time the signing of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan to some date, the main thing is that it should be signed and be viable.

It is important that Armenia and Azerbaijan agree on a peace treaty, everyone should do their best to do so without competing with each other," he added.
