Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan became the authorities' new candidate for the post of Ombudsperson of Armenia, Hraparak.am reports.

"From 2004 to 2020 she served as manager of a chain of clothing stores, took part in various retraining courses, as well as engaged in social activities of an unknown nature.

On May 15, 2020, she was appointed deputy minister, which then caused great surprise in the system. Today she will record another rise in her career.

Kristine Grigoryan, Armenia's human rights defender, tendered her resignation to the National Assembly on January 24 and hastily left the ombudsman's office without waiting the week stipulated by law for reconfirmation. She left Armenia, announcing that she had received a new job offer and accepted it," the media notes.
