Germany and its European partners plan to send two Leopard 2 tank battalions to Ukraine quickly - about 80 vehicles in total, Politico reported, citing a German government statement. It is noted that Germany will provide one company of 14 Leopard 2 A6 tanks as a first step.

In addition, Poland, Spain, Norway and Finland also intend to send their Leopard tanks.

Germany will always be in the forefront when it comes to supporting Ukraine, but will also make sure that the conflict does not involve NATO, said Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

He added that while supporting Ukraine, at the same time it is necessary to prevent the war from escalating into a war between Russia and NATO.
