The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, left for Ukrainian capital Kyiv last evening.

"Good to be back in Ukraine. With those brave people who inspired the world. With those heroes who refuse to give in. With those who sacrificed everything for our values. With Europeans whose home is in our European Union," Metsola wrote on Twitter.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, Metsola met with the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament) speaker, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in Kyiv.
Stefanchuk, for his part, emphasized that the European Parliament is undoubtedly at the forefront of those who support Ukraine.

He informed that the sanctions on Russia were discussed during the meeting. Stefanchuk thanked the European Union for financial support, macro-financial assistance, and raised the topic of China's "peace treaty" proposals.
"I emphasized that there is a peace formula proposed by Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. And we call on the world to support this proposal," Stefanchuk said.
