Gevorg Petrosyan, a former MP of the National Assembly, has been charged, and a signature bond not to leave Armenia has been chosen as a preventive measure against him, Armenian News-NEWS.am learns from the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

On March 12, Petrosyan had disobeyed the legal demands of police officers. In particular, he threatened to use violence against the patrol police so they do not check his vehicle documents and he does not take a sobriety test. Then, ignoring the police requests addressed to him to get out of his car, he drove the car, and left the scene.

A petition was submitted to the prosecution regarding the launching of public criminal prosecution against Petrosyan.

The petition was granted and Petrosyan was charged today.
