The Armenian serviceman who got lost due to bad weather conditions has returned to Armenia’s control sector of the front line, but there are still no answers to a number of questions. Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of opposition "With Honor" Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, wrote about this on Facebook. He added as follows, in particular:

"The circumstance that the Russian servicemen who went to the scene of the incident and the Azerbaijanis opened fire at them, as a result of which 2 Russian servicemen were wounded, is noteworthy.

“As far as I know, the Azerbaijanis were aware that the Russian servicemen were approaching the scene of the incident, but this did not prevent them from shooting toward the Russian military.

“In such cases, it is important to understand what operational tasks the Russian servicemen and the EU civilian monitors [in Armenia] are fulfilling.

“If the actions of Russian servicemen are generally clear—they are regulated by the Russian-Armenian agreements following the 44-day war [in 2020], it is still not clear how the EU monitors will respond in such cases. Will they later find a place in current closed reports? Or will they bring about a current response?”
