The second round of the 19th Khachaturian International Competition is underway in Yerevan.

Ten pianists from five countries passed the first round on Thursday, the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation informs Armenian News-NEWS.am

In the second round on Friday and Saturday, each participant must perform a solo performance in front of a panel of judges, and the maximum duration of this performance shall be 55 minutes.

The Khachaturian International Competition is organized by the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. The competition has been a member of the Geneva-based World Federation of International Music Competitions (FMCIM) since 2013, and operates under the rules set by this federation.
