Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Kyiv on Saturday for a surprise visit, TASS reports with reference to CBC television company.

According to CBC, Trudeau arrived in Ukraine, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland.

As The Globe and Mail reports, the Canadian PM intends to meet with Ukrain's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a one-day trip. Talks are expected to focus on Ottawa's support for Kyiv, as well as Canada's potential role in rebuilding the country.

This is Trudeau's second trip to Ukraine after the start of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in February 2022. The previous visit took place in May 2022.
