Fiat continues to bring back forgotten names. After the Topolino, the Italian brand is set to unveil the new Fiat 600, and its official video has been released, Kolesa.ru reported.

The first generation Fiat 600 is a small and cheap rear-engine passenger car that replaced the aforementioned Topolino in 1955 and became the ideological inspiration for the Soviet ZAZ-965.

Despite its modest dimensions—less than 3.3m long, 2m wheelbase—, it was positioned as a fairly practical and versatile car. And in 1966, Fiat launched the voluminous Fiat 600 Multipla for those who wanted even more space for passengers and cargo.

There is still no official technical information about the new Fiat 600, but it is generally an open secret. It has long been known that the new Italian SUV will share the French CMP platform with a whole galaxy of colleagues from the Stellantis corporation, but its closest “relative” and “neighbor” is the new Jeep Avenger on the assembly line of the Fiat assembly plant in the Polish city of Tychy.

Power options are likely to be the same as the Jeep. Its base version is electric, with a single motor on the front axle (156 hp, 260 Nm) and a 54 kWh battery that will last around 400 km WLTP cycle on a full charge.

In a number of markets, the Fiat 600 will certainly be offered with a 1.2 PureTech petrol "turbo engine" (100 hp, 205 Nm) paired with a 6-speed "mechanics."

Whether the Fiat 600 will have the all-wheel drive version promised to Jeep is still unknown.
