Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: There is a restless domestic political climate in Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)].

A few days ago, we had written about President Arayik Harutyunyan's intention to resign, which was prevented by authoritative persons, former presidents, during a closed meeting held at the beginning of last week.

(…). But information appeared that the topic of resignation is not closed. A group of militia, led by Karen Matevosyan who is Arayik Harutyunyan's friend, tried to break into the Artsakh parliament and demand an account from [newly elected National Assembly (NA) speaker] Davit Ishkhanyan.

We found out that after learning about the news of the resignation, Matevosyan met with the President of Artsakh on Thursday, he confirmed, said that no one stands with him, everyone blames him, etc., so he decided to leave [office].

And Matevosyan rushed to the parliament with a group of militia to defend his president and urge the MPs and NA leaders to stand with Harutyunyan.

And already yesterday, the head of the militia went live[stream] and told the people of Artsakh that he is taking responsibility for the matter of organizing the governing of the state with his group of militias and conducting parliamentary elections. Moreover, he blamed everyone, including the former presidents, for the situation in Artsakh, and practically threatened: if they do not come to an agreement, they will have to deal with them.

Our sources in Artsakh have no doubt that Matevosyan is being guided by the RA. At the moment, chaos and anarchy in Artsakh are beneficial to [Armenia’s PM Nikol] Pashinyan, and they have made Matevosyan get activate to transfer the power at least to [Artsakh Defense Army former commander and former Security Council secretary] Samvel Babayan in case of force majeure. Our source says that Matevosyan and Babayan are close, and it was Matevosyan who organized Babayan's entry into Artsakh during the [ongoing Azerbaijani] blockade [of Artsakh].
