President Joe Biden announced that the United States imposed new sanctions on Russia on Thursday.
"And today, we are announcing new sanctions to hold those responsible for these forced transfers and deportations to account, and to demand that Ukrainian children be returned to their families," Biden noted in a statement on the Ukraine Independence Day anniversary.
The details of these new sanctions, however, are not reported.
