The official representative of the Russian foreign ministry, Maria Zakharova, has confirmed the information about a meeting between US, EU, and Russian diplomats that was held days before Azerbaijan's military aggression against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
"I don't know about the secret [talks]. The USA, the EU contacted us... They asked to have a meeting, some contacts. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the situation; that is all. And if now the story related to that meeting will be played as a provocation in the Western media, it means that such was the goal of the USA and the EU: to create another provocation. There was nothing secret in it; it was an ordinary exchange of opinions. But I will repeat once again: we will follow how the West will now deliver all this. And the initial goals will become clear from there," Zakharova said.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Politico informed about secret talks between the US, EU, and Russian representatives in Turkey—and days before Azerbaijan's attack on Artsakh.
