In Armenia, 19% of the electricity available in the market is already distributed with a new mechanism. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashyan said during a live press conference, answering the questions of Armenian citizens and Diaspora Armenians.

He reminded about the liberalization of the electricity market, which allowed different producers to offer different prices.

"Now consumers [large consumers - ed.] can buy electricity not only from the Electric Networks of Armenia company, but also directly from the producer, while previously electricity could be bought only from the Electric Networks of Armenia company. Our business entities should think about the effectiveness of their activities," Pashinyan said.

According to him, this increase in efficiency can lead to a decrease in production costs.
