The role of Russian President Vladimir Putin in global affairs is extraordinary, it is difficult to overestimate it. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, expressed this position speaking with reporters, and commenting on the decision of the Time magazine, which has proposed to include Putin in the "Man of the Year" nomination, TASS reported.
"Let's see. In any case, the role of Putin in our country, in the world, is difficult to overestimate, unequivocally," the representative of the Kremlin said. "Of course, Putin plays an extraordinary role in the world."
Peskov added, however, that the "Man of the Year" nomination is not particularly important for the Russian president himself.
Time magazine on Monday published a list of nine candidates as "Man of the Year."
The winner will be announced on Wednesday.
