The number of media personnel killed during the current Palestinian-Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip has risen to 86. The press service of the government of the Palestinian enclave provides such data.

According to the name list published in the official Telegram channel of the press service, three women are among the dead.

Last week, the International Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) confirmed the deaths of 63 media workers in the Gaza Strip since the start of a new round of escalation in the Middle East.

The situation in the Middle East has escalated sharply since Hamas infiltrated from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7, accompanied by the killing of residents of border settlements and the taking of more than 200 hostages. Hamas calls the attack a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel has announced a complete blockade of Gaza and has launched retaliatory strikes on the Strip and parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
