We support the discussions aimed at the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and are ready to fulfill any tasks assigned to us in this domain. We are against the wrong approaches of some countries. Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan announced this at Thursday’s joint news conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.

Fidan informed that today he discussed the matter of normalization of relations with Armenia with the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

"Now, after the [expected signing of a] peace agreement [between Armenia and Azerbaijan], the period of prosperity and development of the region should begin. We [Turkey] believe that there is no more room for war or conflicts in the region. Turkey supports the peace talks between the two countries.

"If relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia are normalized, Turkey's relations with Armenia will be normalized immediately. Turkey always supports the normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations," said the Turkish FM.
