On behalf of the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan, I wish to express our deepest condolences for the tragic loss that occurred as a result of the explosion and subsequent building collapse in Yerevan yesterday, and our hope for swift recovery to those injured. US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien stated this on Tuesday, as noted on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Armenia.

At 11:36am Monday, the National Center for Crisis Management was reported that an explosion had occurred in Yerevan's Nor Aresh neighborhood

A collapse had occurred as a result of this explosion.

And elderly woman and a young man were taken out of the rubble and hospitalized. And later, two dead bodies were retrieved from the rubble. They have been identified.
