The simultaneous withdrawal of troops will enable to avoid incidents on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, told this to reporters Wednesday.

"Since the day when we [i.e. Armenia] presented the initiative publicly and not publicly, the matter has been and remains on the agenda," said the secretary of the Security Council, assuring that the Armenian side will try to reach an agreement with Azerbaijan in that regard.

"We are definitely convinced that the simultaneous withdrawal of troops is the best way to avoid incidents. It will be a stabilizing factor," said Grigoryan.

The Azerbaijan authorities are against not only the simultaneous withdrawal of troops, but also leaving the occupied territories of Armenia.
