The political elite of Armenia, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, visited Yerablur Military Pantheon of Yerevan early Tuesday morning, on the birth anniversary the late statesman, Vazgen Sargsyan.

Initially, President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan, Vazgen Sargsyan's brother Aram Sargsyan, the head of the Republic Party, and Sasun Mikaelyan, Chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteers Union, were at Yerablur.

Later, PM Pashinyan joined them. They stayed at Yerablur for about 10 minutes and then left. Only Sasun Mikaelyan remained at the pantheon.

The Prime Minister and the others laid flowers on Vazgen Sargsyan's grave and paid tribute to him.

The entrance to Yerablur was closed for people and reporters since early morning. Security officers did not allow reporters to enter, saying "you are not accredited."

When the aforesaid officials left, however, the entrance to Yerablur was opened.

Vazgen Sargsyan would have turned 65 today.
