YEREVAN.- Yerevan Pure Iron Plant OJSC produced 3 thousand tons of ferromolybdenum (70% Mo grade) in 2011. The general director of the enterprise, Henrik Karapetyan, told Armenian News - NEWS.am that the output remained at the same level as compared with the last year.

In 2011, the plant also produced 500 tons of pure molybdenum (99,6% Mo grade), as well as about 70 kg of potassium perrhenate (Rhenium salt with 64% Rh grade). The entire production of the plant is exported, mainly to Europe.

The company mainly processes molybdenum concentrate from Kajaran copper-molybdenum deposit, mined by Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine CJSC. In 2011, the plant was processing locally produced concentrates. Rhenium salt was entirely produced from Kajaran resource.

The owners of Yerevan Pure Iron Plant are German-based Cronimet Mining GmbH (51% of the shares), and Armenian residents (49%). The plant is one of the two ferroalloy producers in the country (the other being Armenian Molybdenum Production LLC). The plant owns a 15% stake in Zangezour combine (where Cronimet holds 60%).
