YEREVAN. – The testing and presentation of the new seismic intensity distribution system, for the Armenian capital Yerevan, will be held Tuesday at the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) plans to install this system in Yerevan, and it will comprise five new seismic stations equipped with modern digital seismographs, MES informs.

This system will enable to immediately assess the given earthquake’s main parameters. The received information will then be sent to MES Crisis Management Center’s server, and the impact of the Yerevan quake’s intensity will be automatically assessed.

The specialists will introduce the new system, afterward a visit is scheduled to its Davitashen Seismic Observatory, and, subsequently, the new system will be tested—at the Crisis Management Center—by creating an artificial earthquake.
