YEREVAN. – Since Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan had not signed, until Tuesday evening, a decree on designating the day for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections, this means the elections could be designated for May 2, at the most, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.

“The NA elections can be held between April 28 and May 8. But this time limit curtails with every [passing] day, because the decree on designating the election day must be signed no later than seventy days before the voting. If the authorities have ultimately decided to hold the NA elections on May 6, the respective decree must be signed within the next four days, [and] no later than February 26,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
