YEREVAN. – The CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation meeting got underway in Armenia’s capital Yerevan. 

The event brought together the aforesaid Commission’s members from Armenia and Russia.

Armenian National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan noted that a close contact is established between the Commission’s Armenian and Russian parties. “We have common goals and we need to reach them together,” Baghdasaryan said.    

Highly evaluating the activities carried out in the previous years, the National Security Council Secretary stated that during the discussions they will design a program for cooperation in 2015.  

Also, Arthur Baghdasaryan recalled that 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the CSTO. “I am convinced that efforts will be undertaken so that this year would become significant in terms of high indicators,” he noted. 

A protocol will be signed as a result of the session.

In addition, the session participants will pay visits to Armenia’s military-industry facilities.
