YEREVAN.- The election campaign launched in Armenia ten days ago can be described as interesting and vivid, the main characteristic feature being competitiveness, Armenian political analyst says.

Head of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan said 4-6 parties will enter the future parliament. Among them are the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, Armenian National Congress and ARF Dashanaktsutyun.

The expert said Heritage has chances to join the parliament as well. Iskandaryan considers that RPA will not have majority in the National Assembly and is likely to form a coalition.

For entering the National Assembly, parties must poll over 5% of votes, while blocks - over 7%.

The election campaign will be held till May 5 - the day prior to elections when campaigning is banned. The parliamentary elections will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on May 6, 2012.
