ISTANBUL. – The Istanbul branch of Turkey’s Human Rights Union is preparing to file a lawsuit on Thursday against Kemal Cicek, head of the Armenian Department at the Turkish Historical Association, for threatening Garo Paylan, an Istanbul Armenian school principal, during a Turkish television program.       

The aforesaid branch’s statement released in this regard notes that, by using words equivalent to the Turkish nationalists’ “Love it, or leave it!”, Kemal Cicek threatened Garo Paylan during the television program and said: “If you continue speaking like this, you will end up in California, just like your kinsmen,” Istanbul’s Agos Armenian bilingual weekly informs.
