YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party’s new governing board elected Party leader Raffi Hovannisian as its leader, selecting Armen Martirosyan to serve as vice chair in charge of public policy and Stepan Safaryan as secretary general for international affairs.

The board also decided to authorize Heritage’s parliamentary delegation to resume work at the National Assembly, suggesting Party Vice-Chairman Ruben Hakobyan as its head and MP Zaruhi Postanjyan as secretary.

A special determination will be made regarding Hovannisian’s participation in advance of the legislature’s fall session scheduled to open in September.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Heritage’s new governing board was elected during the Party’s special session on June 2.

A total of 132 party delegates took part in the voting, and they selected the 11-member board. To note, votes were cast even against Hovannisian.
