STEPANAKERT. – The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic National Assembly (NKR NA) factions and parliamentary group issued a statement in connection with Azerbaijan’s offensive operations at the line of contact between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces, NKR NA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

“The tension at the line of contact is growing worse. The adversary is launching diversionary operations even against peaceful inhabitants. And all this is carried out by a country which is a UN Security Council member. We [hereby] state:    

- Azerbaijan’s military provocations pursue the objective of failing the negotiating process and fomenting regional instability;

-   the international community must take immediate preventive measures to restrain Azerbaijan’s belligerent policy by recognizing the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic;

- the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are determined to protect the country’s territorial integrity and to strengthen their independent and sovereign state,” the aforesaid statement reads in particular.
