An open-air festival-concert, under the theme “Buenos Aires Celebrates Armenia,” was held on July 7 in the Argentinean capital. The event was held under the patronage of Buenos Aires government, Armenia’s Diaspora Ministry, and Armenia’s Embassy in Argentina.

The stage, which was set up at one of Buenos Aires’ main streets, became the venue for performances by an American-Armenian dance ensemble, and musicians and singers—that had arrived especially for this event—and by well-known Argentinean-Armenian dance ensembles.

Also, several pavilions were set up to introduce the Armenian culture, history, and cuisine.

The concert brought together Armenia’s Ambassador to Argentina Vahagn Melikyan, Buenos Aires Government representative Claudio Avruj, Argentinean-Armenian community organizations’ leaders, representatives from local authorities, and members of the press.

The event was widely covered by local media.
