YEREVAN.- Turkey has never given up its idea to neutralize Armenia as a political factor, political analyst Levon Shirinyan told reporters on Tuesday.

Commenting on remarks of Turkish MP Sinan Ogan saying “in case of renewed war in Nagorno-Karabakh neither Azerbaijan, nor Turkey will not allow Russia to provide military assistance to Armenia,” political analyst said that Russia is a nuclear state.

“Turkey is playing in the guise of ‘soft Islam’ and is positioning itself as a powerful state. Yes, Turkey is a powerful country, but not as much as it wants to appear. Turkey can not play games with a nuclear state,” he said recalling that the Caucasus is the focus of Russia’s interests.
