WASHINGTON. – Famous musician of Armenian descent Serj Tankian shared his opinion on the upcoming presidential elections in the United States in an interview with the American Rock Scene and touched in particular upon the two parties system.

“Here’s the thing, if you want more choices you have to create more choices. We need more parties and that’s been the case for many, many years. But I point that out just to say that with two parties it’s not much of a democracy. There’s more money in politics that ever before. The real problem isn’t just the choice of candidates, it’s what’s happening around it,” Tankian believes.

He also touched upon the republican candidate Mitt Romney, and he claimed that he is more concerned in his policies than religious beliefs [Romney is a Mormon]. In addition, the candidate even said that he did not care about 47 percent of America and did not refute it, which was offensive for Tankian.
