ANKARA. – Turkish Deputy PM Bekir Bozdag responded to the opposition Republican People's Party Tunceli MP Hüseyin Aygün about how many Armenian churches are operating in Turkey.

The Deputy Premier said that there are 38 Jewish synagogues, 140 Greek churches, 52 Armenian churches and 58 Assyrian churches operating in Turkey, Timeturk website reports.

Bozdag also stressed that in total there are 349 registered churches in Turkey. To note, earlier he had informed that 10 churches were opened, while 68 were renovated since 2002 for holding religious ceremonies.
