YEREVAN. – The eighth annual DigiTec Information and Telecommunication Technologies Expo got underway Friday in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan (Photos).  

And for the first time ever in the event’s history, the President attended its official opening. Serzh Sargsyan toured the Expo pavilions and spoke with the participants. 

The DigiTec Expo 2012 will bring together 120 organizations, instead of last year’s 113, and more than 20,000 people are expected to visit the event, as compared with the past year’s 18,000.

To note, this year Italian, Chinese and Mexican cuisines will be exhibited as well.

The DigiTec Information and Telecommunication Technologies Expo is organized since 2005 and by the Union of Information Technologies Enterprises. It is held each October in Yerevan, and under the high patronage of the Armenian Prime Minister.
