YEREVAN. – The American dollar’s exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), has fallen sharply in Armenia’s financial market.    

The US currency’s average exchange rate against the dram comprised AMD 405.25/$1, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Friday, and this is a 0.78-percent—or an AMD 3.21—drop from the previous trading session on Thursday. And this is a fairly large amplitude of fluctuation for the Armenian financial market.  

Friday’s sales totaled $1.8 million at the stock exchange.

The dollar devalued considerably in Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, too. The country’s exchange offices sell the American currency at 407-408/$1 and buy it at 404-405/$1.
