Former CIA chief David Petraeus who resigned over a cheating scandal had a shared Gmail account with his lover Paula Broadwell, the method used by Al Qaeda terrorists.

They could access the Gmail account and open each other’s draft messages to write the answers and respond without sending emails, The Telegraph reported.

Such mechanism was used by Al Qaeda terrorists not to leave any trail as sending a letter can be traced by an IP-address.

FBI started investigation into Petraeus’ love affair after Tampa citizen and Petraeus’ friend Jill Kelley complained about receiving harassing letters from Broadwell.
