YEREVAN.- Ukrainian companies are ready to supply equipment for Armenia’s Metsamor nuclear power plant, Ukrainian official said in Yerevan.

“Our companies can supply turbines, generators, and automated control and management systems,” said Dmitry Kolesnikov, co-chairman of Armenian-Ukrainian inter-government commission on economic cooperation.

Kolesnikov said Ukraine has considerable experience in producing of equipment for NPPs. The Ukrainian companies can also give advice on construction of transmission lines.  

In theory, one can consider the possibility of launching joint ventures in the defense sector as the issue of joint projects has been raised since 2010, Kolesnikov noted.

“There are proposals in the field of agricultural engineering and aeronautical engineering. We want to start from trade and then advance to cooperation in high-tech areas,” he added.
