A memorial service for the victims of the Sumgait massacres was held in St. Hakob Armenian church in Geneva. After the ceremony, participants laid wreaths at the Armenian khachkars (cross-stones).

As Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed at the press service of Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the ceremony was attended by representatives of the Armenian Embassy in Switzerland and the members of the Armenian community. After the ceremony a demonstration of the documentary film “Ordinary Genocide” was organized.

A memorial service dedicated to the victims of Sumgait massacres also took place in the United Arab Emirates. The ceremony was attended by the Armenian Ambassador to the UAE Gegham Gharibjanyan, members of the Armenian community and guests.
