A citizen of Armenia was detained in Georgia on charges of attempting to smuggle gems into the territory of the country through Sadakhlo checkpoint.

Revenue Service of Georgia’s finance ministry reported about the incident on Friday.

According to the Revenue Service, precious stones were sent for examination to determine their value. The investigation is underway. It is not specified, when exactly the citizen of Armenia was detained, Novosti Gruziya reported.
